EVALUATION

What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?
My animation skills have improved massively. I feel I can approach animation-based work much more confidently as I have a good grasp and understanding of related software, planning techniques and terminology. Also my organisation skills have improved with the use of labelling and ordering files.

What approaches to/methods of research have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?
During the project I allowed more time for research as opposed to previous projects, I feel I spent adequate time on research and believe this aided my storyboards, animation and iweb.

What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?
I think my animation and iweb design are the strong points of my work. I’d like to continue to work with screen-based media in future projects; I can use the skills I’ve gained from this project to do so. I’ve also recently entered my iweb homepage image into a t-shirt design competition to further improve my portfolio of work.

What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these more fully?
I feel I could have developed my imagery more for my animation, tested different illustration styles and experimented with colour to see what would work best for the animation

Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?

Develop imagery more; this would expand my development and give me different styles to choose from, to determine which works best when in motion.
I think I could have possibly spent more time working out the timing of my animation, although I found it difficult to do so before getting work on-screen.
I would do more test animations, testing different ways in which I can animate, finding the best method for my final animation.

LyalKasper are a NYC based design firm, specialising in film and motion graphics, they have some impressive examples which can be viewed on heir website. Also the layout and clarity of their site does the company good. I also like the typeface used.

iweb influence

Here are some websites which inspired my iweb. They have innovative, easily navigable, and visually exciting site pages.

iweb

Here's my main image I'v been working on, it will be on the home page and have links to my pages surrounding it. Created it in Illustrator with the pen tool and with an added gausian blur to give the image depth. I will export to jpeg and upload to my iweb page.

Iv managed to syncronise image with sound, I have to view and work in 'quarterly' res to avoid any lagging.

Sound Editing - TOP TEN

I used GarageBand to edit my backing track for the animation, I cropped track to 35 secs by joining the start and ending together, cutting out the middle part of the track. The transition from start to end section is on beat and well hidden. i then simply imported the track into AE as a footage file.

Top Ten Best Movie Giants. TESTER 003

Here's my animation development so far, iv sourced and edited a backing track and toouched up on some areas of animation.
Timing slips out of sinc towards the end of visuals, the track can be listedned to by simply letting the animation continue to play.
Work in progress...
